Sovereign Symbol


This is a proposed amendment to the Constitution.

1. No flag of any foreign nation or power shall be erected or displayed within the United States in such a manner as to indicate supremacy over the United States government or its Constitution.
2. The flag of the United States shall not be altered, nor shall the flag or its image be defaced with the addition of any image or text, except by Act of Congress.
3. Neither Congress nor any authority shall infringe on the right of the people to display the flag of the United States or its image on public or private property or upon their persons.
4. Regulations regarding the physical destruction of individual United States flags may be determined by Congress.
5. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the several States, as provided herein.
