This is a proposed amendment to the Constitution.
1. Members of the United States House of Representatives are limited to a total of ten years of service in that Chamber, and no more than three consecutive terms or portions thereof.
2. Members of the United States Senate are limited to a total of eighteen years of service in that Chamber, and no more than two consecutive terms or portions thereof.
3. No member of Congress may serve or be elected to an aggregate of more than twenty years of service.
4. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment by the several States, as provided in the Constitution.
