Department of Justice


This is a proposed amendment to the Constitution.

1. The Department of Justice shall be excluded from the Presidential succession.
2. The appointment of the Attorney General, as head of the Department of Justice, shall require the approval of a two-thirds majority of the Senate.
3. The Attorney General of the United States may be removed from office for misconduct, malfeasance, or misfeasance upon application by a majority of the legislatures of the several states.
4. Two-thirds of the States may compel the Department of Justice to appoint Special Investigators or Prosecutors for alleged or actual violations of Federal laws by anyone holding an office under the United States.
4 This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the several States, as provided herein.
