Well, after much thought, and many revisions, here are my suggestions for how the Constitution could be amended to return our government to the limited form it enjoyed 223 years ago.
It is sad that I could come up with so many, but it is a fact that the so-called leaders of our country have abused and overstepped their authority with impunity for more than two centuries, and the so-called checks and balances will only work when patriotic leaders of honor, whose reverence for the Constitution is an integral part of their identities, occupy the necessary offices.
Some provisions between these proposals are redundant – such as the Line Item Veto, which is contained in “Legislation” and “Presidential Powers”, or questions of verification of eligibility, or the exclusion of participation in our society of anyone loyal to or subject to doctrines whose aim is to destroy our government. The purpose of the redundancy is so that these vital provisions have a better chance of passage if they overlap areas of government.
Polite and thoughtful comments are welcome. The Constitution belongs to all of us.
