State by State – text and links for statutes relating to qualifications required to seek Federal, State, or Local office including President, Vice-President, Senator, Representative. Also included are the Federal Freedom of Information Act and each state’s statute(s) for public access to information.
I have included the entire text of the statutes wherever possible. Links will permit you to read the actual source material, as long as it has not been scrubbed on the originating website. I have not edited out anything. I have, however, created emphasis in particular clauses that I feel may be significant. In addition, if the current Federal or State code includes references to repealed legislation affecting elections, citizenship, or Freedom of Information, I have tried to include that as well.
